Meletangi's story

Meletangi is 45 years old, the mother of one child, and married to a carpenter husband. They are living together in the home they own. There are five people living together in the house.

Meletangi is currently running her business of making tapa and is in her sixth loan cycle. Her business is the primary source of income in their house. She joined in a group of women in her village and they work together in making tapa. They only make limited sizes of tapa and each woman in the group has her own turn for making her tapa during the week. When Meletangi finishes her tapa she sells it out at the market to earn income for her business and also her family. She doesn't face any challenges in her business. She's very confident in working in her business to achieve her vision, which is to improve her business and the future for her family.
