A loan helped to purchase two bags of fertilizer for her coffee, to do maintenance on her land for the rainy season, and to plant more banana crops on her farm.

Nolberta's story

Nolberta is 47 years old and lives with her family, which includes her spouse and two minor children who are 10 and 12 years old. They live in a small community called Tornillal, which is located in Moyobamba, in the District of Nueva Cajamarca. She and her family get along well with the members of their village.

Nolberta is an experienced farmer with five hectares of banana crops, which she harvests every 15 days. She always sells her crops in the same place because many merchants buy bananas there to take to the coast. She also has coffee and corn planted among her banana plants. Nolberta sells her product in Nueva Cajamarca to buyers in the area.

The destination of Nolberta’s loan will be land maintenance because the rainy season is coming. She also wants to plant more bananas on her farm and buy two bags of fertilizer for her coffee because coffee prices are expected to improve in the coming year. This investment will help Nolberta improve her income and the quality of life of her and her family.
