A loan of $650 helps to purchase more ingredients that will be used to cook food to sell.
Meet 57-year-old Mary from Liberia. She is married with four children. She never had the opportunity to attend school. Two of her children are currently attending school while living at home. She is a strong businesswoman who sells cooked food. She has dealt in this business for the past 15 years now and works 10 hours per day, 6 days a week. For the time being she has had no problem with her business.
She requested this loan from BRAC to purchase more ingredients that will be used to cook food to sell and increase her business. She says that the extra income from this loan will help improve their standard of living. She is so proud of her business because it helps provide her needs. In the future she would like to build another house and continue sending her children to school. She says thanks and gives appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.
