Mwangaza Ii / Nyaweya Group
A loan of $6,300 helps a member to stock up on embers which will reinforce her starting capital.
Mwangaza Ii / Nyaweya Group's story
Madame Maria is a client of the microfinance institution Hekima and belongs to the Mwangaza II/Nyawera "groupe villageoise." She is married, 52 years old, and the mother of 3 children, all of whom go to school. Her partner is a driver.
She sells embers. She began this business 20 years ago with startup funds from her husband. Later, she involved the Hekima program to support her business, over the course of which she progressively grew. With this new loan, she is going to stock up on embers, which will reinforce her starting capital. The challenge of her business is linked to a lack of merchandise during the dry seasons.
She would like for her children to continue to go to school and to develop her business. Finally, she wishes to thank Hekima and its partners for the support brought to non-cash business owners in the context of the COVID-19 global crisis. The photo is only of the group leader due to COVID-19 and respect for social distancing measures.
