Thanh An 57 Group's story
Ten is 40 years old, married and has a daughter who is married. (Ten stands the first from the far right in the photo). Ten is a Thai ethnic minority, who lives with her husband in a Thai traditional stilt house in Dien Bien province, a northwest mountainous province of Vietnam. The locals mainly work as farmers and agriculture is their main source of income. Every day, Ten and her husband work hard with many agriculture activities, such as planting rice, raising ducks, chickens and pigs. Her husband also works as a laborer to earn extra income for the family. With many years experience in raising pigs, Ten's pigs grow up fast and very healthy. Unfortunately, several months ago she faced the difficulty of her pigs getting African Swine Fever and she lost income because of it.
But the difficulty made her stronger and she decided to invest in raising goats. With a good repayment history, Ten successfully borrowed her third loan from the Anh Chi Em program to buy three goats. Ten said that she believes this investment will be successful. The profit from investment will use to pay for thier cost of living and savings for needed items.
