A loan of $15,000 helps a woman-owned, eco-sustainable business pay for expansion renovations.

I switched careers in my 30's when I realized I didn't like my job, but I did love doing my daughter's hair. The thing I loved most was teaching her to love her natural hair, spending one on one time with her, nurturing her soul, connecting with her. Once I became a hairstylist, I was most drawn to Aveda because of its mission to produce natural, sustainable products.
My education background consists of: Associates of Art and Science, Bachelors Degree in Science/Biology with an emphasis in Medical Technology, Cosmetology School, and currently enrolled in a Small Business Certification Class. Art moves me, science interests me, people touch my soul.
After searching for my meaning in this life, and how to combine all my education and passions, I know I have found it. Creating an Eco-Sustainable, Inclusive Salon, I have created a space for anyone and everyone to come to feel hygge. Welcome, Cozy, Comfortable, Safe. I know I am doing my part to improve the climate crisis, and consciously creating a diverse space to welcome all. I am especially proud that I am able to create a safe space to receive self-care in a time when we all need it.
