As a motherless and fatherless child, I was raised to have a go-getter spirit and work hard for everything I want out of life. I eventually went on to college and studied everything business-related and graduated college early while maintaining 3 jobs. After college, I knew I wanted to start my own business. My job experiences in marketing, event planning, and finance were vital pieces in setting the foundation for my business today.
Sonder Lush Nail Studio was created as a result of a bad nail salon experience. The service was rushed, the chemicals gave me a headache, and my nails only lasted 2 days. I analyzed my experience and wondered, “how often do we tolerate bad nail salon experiences?”
I wanted to create a “NEW” nail salon experience. So I obtained my manicurist license and began the work to make a difference. I started working out of my basement in October of 2019 and quickly outgrew the space. In April of 2020, I signed my lease for my first brick-and-mortar salon. I was fortunate enough to be able to prevail during the pandemic and in April 2021 I signed my lease for my 1st flagship location.
