A loan helped to buy bags of local cereals for retail.
Mbene's Group's story
This group, composed of six women, was created from the village banking group’s first cycle. It gathers women bound by friendly social and professional ties. Mrs. Mbène is the group leader. She is seventy-three and married. She is the mother of six children, two boys and four girls. She works in the retail of local cereals. She can draw on a good amount of experience. With her new 250,000-CFA loan, she will purchase ten bags of millet, ten bags of corn, and ten bags of groundnuts. She will retail them at the local weekly markets. The profit she will turn will allow her to provide for the food, health, and school needs of some of her children. It will also allow her to increase her savings with the village banking group.
