Nyaung Pin Tan Village Group's story

Pictured above are CBO members from Nyaung Pin Tan Village, named U Tin, U Htin and Daw Khin. Previous loan helped Nyaug Pin Tan village group members purchase high quality feed, ducks, and ducklings, which increased their income.

Beside duck businesses, Nyaung Pin Tan Village group members also invest on other livestock such as pigs, chickens, and water buffalo. Pigs are mainly a source of savings, water buffalo are used to cultivate the land, and chickens are used in a similar way as ducks. Also, they are planting seasonal, vegetables and fruits for additional income.

For the upcoming loan, ten more borrowers will join the group for a total of 43 members. This Kiva relist loan will help the group to purchase high quality feeds that will make the ducks lay well-nourished eggs, which boost incomes. All the customers in Nyaung Pin Tan are so excited to be able to use some of their increased income not only to cover their living costs, but also to support their children's educations.
