A loan helped to pay for a solar system for lighting to increase productive hours, improving his family's living conditions.

José Anastacio's story

José is a cattle owner who lives on a shared-land called Blanca Citlally. José lives in the Mexican state of Campeche, which is considered as one of the poorest states of Mexico. Like other residents of the shared-land, he lacks basic services such as electricity, a drainage system, potable water, etc. He dedicates his everyday work to producing milk and sometimes sells meat.

At the moment, José uses diesel lamps and a small diesel generator and spends more than $100 monthly for lighting purposes. These technologies are harmful due to smoke inhalation, and José wants to do something about this for his family.

With this solar system, José will be able to give a clean lighting technology to his family and also start a new business by making cheese at night with the extra productive hours the system will give him. This ultimately will significantly improve his family's living conditions.
