The lady raising her hand in the photo is Silvia. She is 26 years old, married, and blessed with three children. She is a member of Ngeleno Women Group which joined Hand in Hand Eastern Africa so as to benefit from enterprise development and financial management training.

She is a dairy farmer. She is borrowing a Kiva loan to buy high quality fodder for her cows. This will increase her milk production and enable her meet the rising demand for milk in her locality, hence more income. She will use the anticipated income to cater for basic family needs such as food and clothing.
