A loan helped to invest in a bulk purchase of leather and wood.

Moises's story

Moises is an artisan from Peru who specializes in leather and wood furniture. He would like to invest in a bulk purchase of leather and wood.

Moises has been selling through NOVICA since 2005. This is his story:

At the age of 15, Moises moved to Lima to study leather and woodcraft with his uncle. "After six years of apprenticeship, I started a workshop with my brother who, sadly, passed away in 1980. I proudly honor his memory with my work. Now it's my turn to train others in the family –- my nephews and other relatives. Some of my sisters work with me as well. My art is a medium to express my country's culture and transmit the essence of Peru."

"On behalf of myself, my family and all the artisans who work with me at my workshop, I would like to say thanks to everyone who is helping to fund this microcredit. It is a wonderful feeling when one feels supported and appreciated, and it pushes us to continue working and striving to improve as a business and as human beings."
