Jessica Del Rocío's story
Jessica del Rocio A. S. belongs to the "Manos Unidos" ("Hands Together") Village Bank. She lives on La Union St in the Yarinacocha District of the city of Pucallpa. She is 32 years old and has one child. Her husband works independently. Jessica works selling parts for and doing mechanical work on motorcycles and motorcycle taxis. Her first loan from Manuela Ramos was for 300 Nuevos Soles (US$100), which she used to buy some replacement parts. She sold the parts at low prices and didn't earn very much profit, but this helped her gain a lot of customers. With this loan of 2,000 Nuevos Soles (US$650), Jessica will be able to buy machinery and accessories for motorcycle repairs, as well as replacement parts, which she orders directly from Lima. This is a good business to be in in her area, since the entire population uses motorcycle taxis as a means of transportation. "The NGO Manuela Ramos has helped me earn more for my family, has allowed me to expand my business and continue to grow and develop," she said.
