Rina Lisseth's story
22-year-old Rina only studied until the sixth grade before she could no longer continue going to school. She is a single mother, and her husband left her after finding out that she was pregnant. She lives only with her mother and her nephew. Since she was 10 years old, Rina has worked growing maize and beans. She learned to do this thanks to her mother, as her father passed away when she was very young. Two years ago she began to sell clothing because a lack of money forced her to look for other means of generating income for her family. She sells clothing three days each week, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m. Rina needs the loan to buy clothing to improve her business and to buy feed for raising pigs. Rina dreams of being able to build her own house, because her home now belongs to her mother.
