Las Retamitas Group's story

The communal bank "LAS RETAMITAS" will begin its twelfth cycle in Pro Mujer, as part of the Centro Focal Los Andes. It is made up of ten members and is managed by a board where Maxima is the president. The businesses that the members of the communal bank carry out are varied and among them are: vegetable sales, transportation service, internet café service, food sales, fruit sales, a grocery store, and embroidery on clothing items.

The loan they will take out will benefit the small micro enterprises where Maxima is a member. She indicates that she joined Pro Mujer seven years ago, joining by the invitation of her sister who is a client of the institution. Currently she has a business that is a shop of embroidery on clothing items. It is worth mentioning that she started this business several years ago and learned it by her own initiative.

The loan she will take out will be to increase capital (buy wholesale thread) that she will acquire from the wholesale sellers from the city of El Alto to later offer her services in her embroidery shop. This form of work allows her to generate resources to support her family financially, since she is married and has two children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she says that she likes the health area that the institution offers.
