Icela Guadalupe's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped to buy more sweet rolls and drinks to sell.
Icela Guadalupe's story
Icela, 21, could not go beyond the ninth form because she had to start working at a very young age, since she was living in extreme poverty. She is married and the couple lives alone, with a baby on the way. Her husband sells water and fizzy drinks. Icela has been selling sweet rolls and drinks (water and juice) for the past year or so; she also works as an employee in a shop in the city centre. She shares a lorry with her husband, which they use to tour the villages in the region to sell their wares. Icela needs the loan to buy more merchandise to sell in order to increase her stock and earn more money. Icela's greatest dream is to have a shop of her own one day; in the meantime, she eagerly awaits the baby's arrival.
