Fatou Seye's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase millet, corn, tomatoes, rice, oil, cookies, and spices.

Fatou Seye's Group's story

This group of 4 members is part of the 'banc villageois' that was created in November 2009. It is composed of women from the same district who maintain excellent relationships among themselves. The women are active mainly in commerce.

FATOU, standing at the right in the photo with her left hand raised, is the featured borrower. She is the married mother of six children (two boys and four girls). She sells grains (millet, corn) and various other goods. She has had a grocery store in her home for two years.

With her new loan, she intends to purchase some millet worth 100,000 francs CFA and some corn worth 50,000 francs that she will then resell. With the rest of the loan, she is purchasing a variety of goods (tomatoes, rice, oil, cookies, spices, …) to renew her shop’s inventory in order to satisfy her customers.

The profits earned from her business will enable her to save money for her children’s future, as well as for helping them by meeting their needs.
