A loan helped to buy a new sewing machine and overlocker.

Banalata's Group's story

Banalata is an industrious and enterprising lady from a small village of Kandhamal district, Odisha, India. She has three children. She has been sewing women's clothing in the traditional and unique style for seven years. In a good month, she can sew 25 dresses. She does a wonderful job on her work, and her number of customers is constantly growing.

She needs to upgrade her sewing machine — her old one isn't working anymore after long years of service. She also wants to buy an overlocker. She wants to do embroidery on dresses in order to attract more customers. A new sewing machine and overlocker will be expensive, and she needs a decent amount of money to buy them.

Therefore, Banalata, along with her fellow group member, is requesting a loan amount of 30,000 INR from Kiva's partner Peoples Forum. She will use her portion of the loan amount to buy a new sewing machine and overlocker.

Banalata is eagerly awaiting your kind help.
