A loan helped to buy Elsa stoves to sell.

God Is One Group's story

Gladys is the 43-year-old woman in the middle of the group picture. She comes from Twifo Praso in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa district of the central region of Ghana.

Gladys is married with two children. Gladys’ husband is a businessman who has been very supportive in taking care of the family. She sells mother care products like baby walkers, children's dresses, antiseptics, feeding bottles, diapers etc.

She is the group representative of the God is One group. She has owned and operated her business for the past eight years. As a serious businesswoman, she became delighted to add Elsa Stove distribution to her business after she witnessed the community education on the repercussions of climate change and the introduction of Elsa Stove to her community by field officers. Gladys has done the necessary market surveys with a very positive result.

Gladys and her group members want to be part of a wealthy course of using the most reliable and efficient way of cooking due to availability of the Elsa stoves fuel, waste materials within their community. There has been an increase in demand for the Elsa stoves within the community and the nearby villages. The stove uses palm kernel shells as fuel. The Elsa stove improves indoor air quality and the health of the users, and it is cost saving.

Gladys and her group members need a micro loan to buy more stoves to meet the demands of their customers. Funding their loan will also reduce deforestation and help green the environment. Gladys and her group members thank all their Kiva micro lenders for their generosity and help to improve the environment within the communities they operate.
