Casilda Magdalena's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to cover the dirt floor of her house with a proper floor, finish the walls, and after years of building, finally move in.

Casilda Magdalena's story

Casilda makes a living by selling shoes through a catalog. She does a very good job selling to friends and neighbors and has made a good business of it.

Ever since she turned 25, when her parents granted her a piece of land, she started saving to build her house. Piece by piece, she has managed to build a structure she feels proud of. Still, after ten years she has not been able to move in, since the floor is still dirt and the walls are not covered. Winters would be very harsh under current conditions, and with the rainy season, the flooded and damp floor will be a health hazard, especially given her chronic illness.

Casilda is excited to finally finish her house; she cannot see the day when she can finally move in. This credit will give her the money she needs to install a floor and finish the walls. She says that without this credit, it will take at least another five years to complete the necessary work to move in. Given that her job is informal and she has no constant income, no other institution will give her credit. With this credit, she will receive visits and supervision from certified technicians who will ensure that the construction meets all the safety and quality standards.

Casilda is thankful for this opportunity and is now planning on the next steps for future credits.
