Amassagou B Group's story

Aiché, the woman holding the ram's horn in the photo, is a 35-year-old illiterate Malian. She is married and the mother of four children (two girls and two boys), ages 9, 13, 16 and 20 years old. One boy and one girl are in school. Besides farming, Aiché's husband makes a living from a small shop, selling clothing and wash basins. Aiché is a brave and determined woman who always repays her loans. She will use this loan to buy rams for her sheep breeding business that she's been involved in for 20 years. Aiché likes ovine breeding because it's a reasonably good business for poor women. She shops at the local market in the area and always resells in her area. Her monthly income helps her to get ahead in life. This loan will help her earn income to meet the personal needs of her children (education and health care). Aiché's hopes and dreams are to be able to ensure a modest food supply for her family and a good education for her children.
