Mamuka's story

Mamuka is a 41-year-old married man from Kobuleti city. He lives with his pensioner parents, wife and 2 sons and the only employed person is his wife, who is a teacher. Mamuka grows maize and nut trees on the family-owned agricultural land. In additions he owns a cow and the family produces dairy products. In order to get financial independence, Mamuka decided to be involved in his own business. All the financial institutions rejected his loan requests because of his unstable financial conditions and lack of experience. After several unsuccessful attempts, Mamuka applied for the credit to MFO Credo. His request was approved in the framework of the Start Up program, which is a joint initiative with Kiva, permitting people to start or re-start businesses. With the received amount of 4000 GEL, Mamuka plans to purchase special machinery of an auto crane, rent the place and start repairing cars. He will get clients among local people and will generate some income. With the support of the Start Up program, Mamuka will get an opportunity to be involved in his own business and tackle the financial difficulties. He needs your support.
