Jose Ines's story

José Ines is 55 years old. He lives in his own house made of basic materials with his spouse and a 3 year old grandchild in the district of Santo Tomás, Cutervo province, Cajamarca department, Perú. He has very good references both personal and for work, from the people of the area. The inhabitants of this place work mainly in agriculture, commerce and raising livestock.

Jose Ines works in agriculture, specifically growing coffee. He has two hectares of Catimor varietal coffee. His plantation is four years old and is in it's second year of production. He has carried out this activity for more than 20 years on his own property in Las Juntas village of Santo Tomas district. He sells his product to the wholesale buyers in the district of Santo Tomas. Additionally he grows pineapples and raises small animals like chickens, turkeys, pigs and guinea pigs and grows food products (yucca, taro, plantains, legumes, fruits and others). These are for his own consumption and occasionally for sale. He has a lot of experience in the field.

The loan will be used to invest in the maintenance of 1 hectare of coffee of his two hectares, which will assure greater and better production for the 2016 season. He will obtain a higher volume of sales, providing more income and therefore he will be able to improve his and his family's quality of living.
