Muranga Upendo Women Group's story

The lady raising her hand in the photo is Salome. She is married and blessed with three children. She joined Hand in Hand Eastern Africa in December 2013.

Salome is a maize and beans farmer; and she also keeps poultry. She is grateful to HiHEA for developing her entrepreneurial spirit through training and mentorship.

She is borrowing a Kiva loan to start a cereals business and to purchase fertilizer and seeds that will boost her farming. She hopes to get more profits from the sale of eggs and cereals.

This will enable her to support her family's needs, such as education, food and medical care.

Salome is grateful to Kiva and their lenders for their support. She promises to repay the loan promptly.
