Pridon's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase a car and start working as a taxi driver.

Pridon's story

Pridon, who is 48 years old, lives in the village of Kumisi. His family members are his wife and little daughter.

Since it's very difficult to find any stable job in this region, Pridon's wife started a trading business with clothing and home products. She creates the only income to satisfy the family's increasing needs.

Pridon wants to do his bit for the family's welfare and to generate his own income. He sought credit from local financial institutions, but his attempts were unsuccessful because of his poor living conditions.

A startup program, that is joint initiative between Kiva and Credo, enables rural poor and inexperienced people to get a loan to start or re-start businesses. Under the framework of this program, Pridon's application was approved, so he could get a loan of GEL 900 to purchase a second-hand car and start serving local people as a taxi driver. He will generate daily income and will tackle the financial difficulties.

The family's living conditions will significantly improve and the family will have enough income to access regular credit products available on the country’s capital market, in case of need.

Pridon will be very thankful for the loan.
