Mujeres De Pasaccap Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase an additional industrial sewing machine to increase production.

Mujeres De Pasaccap Group's story

The trust bank Mujeres de Pasaccap is located in Totonicapan in the Western Highlands. Ebelina is a member of the group. She is 22 years old with one small child, whom she and her husband raise. In spite of her young age, Ebelina is an amazing businesswoman and with much effort, has developed a thriving textile business. She has three industrial sewing machines and makes everyday skirts, rather than the traditional typical ones called “cortes.” Ebelina is requesting a new loan, as she has a dream of purchasing an additional industrial sewing machine to increase production! This young woman has a very bright future ahead of her!

Ebelina and the ladies in the trust bank really look forward to the educational trainings during their monthly meetings. After they transact business on their loans, a facilitator from Friendship Bridge shares useful information with them on a variety of subjects including business, nutrition and health, and self-esteem. These educational trainings result in improved hygiene and health care as well as decreased malnutrition. And, of course, the ladies can maintain and expand their small businesses as they learn about budgeting, accounting, customer service, and marketing.

In funding loans for Ebelina and the women in the trust bank, Kiva investors are offering these women a better future for themselves, their families, and their community in Totonicapan. Thank you for your generosity!
