José Luis's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy feed for his shrimp, so they grow more quickly, in order to obtain better profits in less time.

José Luis's story

José, 55, only studied until 2nd grade and had to work from a very young age because the economic situation was very hard. He is married. His wife takes care of household chores. José has been working for two years in the shrimp business. After the peace accords that there were after the civil war, an institution trained them to raise shrimp. Before that he worked in agriculture, but that work did not provide him with good profits. Later he decided to raise shrimp and he realized it was much more profitable. He has a pond 8 kilometers from his house where he looks after and feeds the shrimp. He gets there in a pick-up truck. That is his work routine, and on his days off he stays home to rest and spend time with his wife. He needs this loan to buy feed for the shrimp, so they will grow more rapidly, in order to gain better profits in less time. José's dream is to make improvements to his house, because there are still a few things to be done. He also wants to buy a vehicle so he can take his product to market.
