Hernando's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to invest in fixed assets: an industrial machine for cutting wood, and raw materials.

Hernando's story

Hernando is an independent entrepreneur who is 63 years old, lives with his spouse in Soledad, and is the father of three adult children. His carpentry workshop is located in this same location, and he started this business after completing training in the art, promoted by SENA, an institution that offers training at no cost.

Hernando's business is very traditional and is well known amongst soledeños who contract him for services to make windows, bedrooms, dining sets, room furniture and wooden structures of different kinds. Although he produces his products every day, his deliveries and sales are carried out every three days. He has been running his business for twenty-three years, and his goal is to increase his business growth and even get clients abroad.

To achieve these goals Hernando must improve his quality standards, which he plans on doing through his first Kiva loan through the Mario Santo Domingo Foundation, which he will use to invest in fixed assets: an industrial machine for cutting wood and raw materials. This investment aims to improve delivery times, production capacity and better finished products. His personal goal is to continue supporting his children.
