Children's Wear Group's story

Joana is a 56-year old woman from Mankessim in the Mfantsiman District of the Central Region of Ghana.

Joana (first on the left in the photo) is the group representative of Children’s Wear group. Joana is married and lives with her family. She has 6 children but the youngest is currently pursuing his tertiary education. Joana’s husband is a retired educator and very supportive. She has sold clothes, shoes, and jeans for 25 years.

Joan has been with the Field Partner 2010 to grow her business to the current level through micro loan support. She has successfully repaid her previous loans with the Field Partner. Joana’s main challenge is the size of her shop. She will use the current loan to buy feeding bottles, baby dresses, shoes, jeans shorts, and trousers. Joana will use part of her profit to expand her shop. She has been able to buy a piece of land from savings. Joana and her group members thank all their Kiva micro lenders for their support.
