Faniya's story

Faniya is 66 and married. Her children are grown up and independent, and she already has grandchildren. She has a university education and is now retired, having worked many years as a veterinarian. She also is a farmer. Faniya has three cows, 25 sheep, and grows clover on a 1.4 hectare plot of land and fruit trees in the garden. She earns 15,000 som (KGS) per month. Faniya applied for a loan of 120,000 som (KGS) with Bai Tushum Bank to buy ten sheep and two cows to increase her livestock headcount. She will use the income from the loan to develop her business. She also dreams of saving money for a trip to Russia to visit her daughter, who now works there.
