Optimism Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more fish to resell for increasing her income and improving her living standard.

Optimism Group's story

Mai is 44 years old and married with two children. Mrs. Mai has been operating a food stall selling fish for more than ten years. She lives in Dong Son district, a rural town in Thanh Hoa province. Her family is a low-income household in the village; moreover, the market need is low in this region. The income from this business is unstable because the price and the amount of fish are related to the weather conditions. The main hardship that Mai faces in her business is the lack of capital. She is requesting a loan to purchase more fish to resell. In 2010, Mai joined Thanh Hoa Microfinance Institution to improve her business. Mai has successfully repaid one loan from Thanh Hoa Microfinance Institution. She is the group leader of "Optimism", which consists of nine members. In the future, Mai hopes for her family to be healthy and happy, for her business to do well, and for her children to find good jobs.
