Note En Teko Boke Group's story

Beatrace (the woman with her hand raised in the photo) is a single mother, having lost her husband during the Northern Uganda insurgency. She has five children, all school-going. Beatrace is a resident of Boke village, in the Lira district. She deals in produce, a business from which she derives her sustenance and school fees for her children.

Due to the increased demand of produce as a result of the prevailing peace situation, Beatrace has applied for a loan of 600,000 UGX through the group to buy rice since it's rice season in the area. She is grateful to Kiva funders and UGAFODE Microfinance Limited for the support provided.

Pictured in the photo are the group members, with a UGAFODE staff member standing at the extreme left in a blue dress. The lady next to her in the back row is saving but not taking a loan this cycle. She signed the waiver form along with the other members.
