A loan helped to invest in her chicken business.
Reina De La Paz's story
Reina has a 9th grade education. She is married, and her husband farms corn and beans. They have 2 children, neither of whom live with them because they are independent and have formed their own families. Financially, only her husband depends upon her. Reina has had a business slaughtering chickens for 10 years. A friend taught her the business, and the residents in her area prefer her business because of her friendliness and good products. She carries out her business on her property. She starts slaughtering chickens at 4am, and finishes at 7am. Later, she goes out to sell chicken in the city. Reina needs a loan to buy more chickens for her business, and to improve her business premises. With this investment, she hopes to increase her income and provide her family with better living conditions. Reina dreams of having a better corral to raise chickens in, because at this time she buys the chickens fully grown just to slaughter them. She also wants to expand her house. With the help of this loan, she hopes to increase her sales and invest the earnings in her business and her family.
