Sasun's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to pay for thirty sheep to enlarge his livestock and gather more income for his family.

Sasun's story

Sasun is a young and experienced farmer, living with his mother in Arpeni village, Shirak region. He has been involved in farming since a young age.

Like most farmers in the region, Sasun is involved in livestock breeding. He keeps 11 calves, 5 cows, 35 sheep, and 15 hens. With the help of his mother, Sasun also cultivates wheat and grass as forage to feed the livestock.

Sasun asks for this loan in order to be able to enlarge the number of livestock by 30 sheep. Shirak is a poor region with a high unemployment rate and low living standards.

Lack of access to loans, bad market conditions, and high costs create a number of difficulties for people when developing their businesses in the Shirak region. Sasun's loan has been approved within the joint initiative between SEF International and Kiva, which provides loans to the underserved population of the Shirak region, to help them to earn a living.
