A loan helped to buy shovels wholesale.

Brillo De Luna Group's story

The "Brillo de Luna" group began its first cycle in Pro Mujer as part of the German Busch Focal Center. It's comprised of nine members and is led by a board of directors of which Julia is the president. The businesses owned by the members of the association are varied. Among them are the sale of tools for construction, the sale of vegetables, a neighborhood store, the sale of school supplies, the sale of beef, the sale of food, and the sale of pots.

The loan they will obtain will benefit micro enterprises including Julia's business. She joined Pro Mujer through the invitation of a friend who is a client of the institution. She currently has a business selling construction tools. She learned this trade from her parents thirty years ago. The loan she will take out will be used to increase her capital, through the purchase of shovels wholesale that she will acquire from wholesale vendors in the city of El Alto. Later she will sell them in fairs in the communities of Achacachi and Batallas. This type of work allows her to generate resources to support her family economically, since she is married and has eight children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer she responded that she likes the trainings it offer.
