Azhar's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for her studies toward a Bachelor Degree in the IBL Program at AUCA.

Azhar's story

Going to a university is financially difficult for many families. Azhar comes from one of them. She has a big family of six people: her parents, grandmother, herself and two younger siblings. Her grandmother is widowed and old; she needs someone to take care of her. Azhar’s father works at budgetary organization and her mother is an assistant of the Psychology Department at one of the local universities. Although both parents work, their income is used for two children's school tuition and for food, transportation, and other daily living expenses. Having no other sources of funding, it is hard for them to save money for necessary things such as higher education for their children.

Azhar remembers the days when her family used to pay rent for their apartment. Now, thanks to her uncle, they live in his house for free. Of course, it helped them to save some money for Azhar’s university tuition. Having applied for AUCA’s financial aid, Azhar got some discount, and she hopes to get a Kiva loan to reduce the remaining amount of the tuition and fees. Her parents totally support their daughter’s idea to get a good education to succeed in life. They are ready to work day and night, to provide their children a better future than they have.
