Dipa's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase agricultural inputs for growing paddy.

Dipa's story

Dipa is a rural, hardworking woman of only 31 years. She is married to Ranjit, a 40-year-old farmer. They live in Raychenga, a small village of Falakata in Alipurduar district, West Bengal, India. They are blessed with two children (one son and one daughter). Her son is studying in grade 9 and her daughter is a toddler.

Dipa’s husband is a very hardworking man. He cultivates on his farm land, mainly paddy rice because he has a lot of knowledge about its production and always offers quality products. He supplies his paddy rice to the rice dealers in the nearby market.

In order to strengthen the business and respond to client demand, Dipa is requesting a loan from BJS (Kiva’s partner) for purchasing more paddy fertilizers, pesticides, and good quality seeds, and to cover the operational costs of paddy cultivation. Their goal is to increase their business activity.

With this investment, at the end of the harvest, he will be able to have a better production, and with his earnings, he will be able to improve his family’s quality of life.

Dipa is very thankful for Kiva and BJS.
