Tawfa's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy the necessary ingredients for making soap, as well as to purchase more accessories to offer for sale.
Tawfa, age 63 and widowed, lives in a poor governorate with her young son. She earns an income in a number of ways in order to support herself and her son: she makes and sells soap; she offers accessories for sale; and she keeps bees in her garden so that she can sell honey. She manages these enterprises without the benefit of any transportation, requiring her to walk in extreme heat and in bad weather to get to her point of sale. She works throughout the day without a break. Her husband's death left her without any means of survival, but she chose not to give up, instead becoming a stronger woman and an ambitious entrepreneur. She is a leader in her society association, after having proven her merit and showing her fellow association members that seniors can work as hard as anyone else. She is proud to be making enough of a living to feed her child and pay her bills. She applied for a loan in order to buy the necessary ingredients for making soap, as well as to purchase more accessories to offer for sale. Her goal is to grow her business so that she can earn more income. She is grateful for this chance to expand her business, and she offers her thanks to her lenders.
