A loan helped to hire a worker to purify potato grass and transplant rice.

Chek's story

Chek, who is 55 years old, is a farmer who lives in Baray district, Kampong Thom Province. She is a hardworking mother of six children, four of whom are married. Her husband is also a farmer on the potato farmland. This couple can make a net profit of approximately $8 (USD) a day.

During this time, Chek is faced with a financial issue in her family. She needs some money to hire a worker to purify potato grass and transplant rice, but she can’t afford to do this.

After getting to know that HKL provides Kiva loans with a lower interest rate than its normal loan, Chek has decided to apply for a Kiva loan to hire a worker for the potato field. She would like to thank to all lenders for their kindness.
