A loan helped to buy a dairy cow.

Paul's story

Hello lenders, meet Paul, a smallholder mixed-farmer based in the Bomet area of Kenya. He is married and has 5 children. He relies on livestock and crop farming to produce food and generate income. His future plans are dependent on the success of his dairy farm and that is why he joined a solidarity group called ‘Agape’ in order to secure financial services.

Paul is seeking a loan to buy a dairy cow. The newly acquired cow will increase the number of livestock on his farm and the quantity of milk that he supplies. However, the impact of your loan goes beyond direct food production to include multipurpose uses, such as skins, fiber, fertilizer and fuel, as well as capital accumulation.

Increased income generated from this loan investment will help Paul pay for his family’s basic needs as well as buy agricultural supplies, such as seed, fertilizers, pesticides, animal feeds and implements to ensure sustainability of his business.
