Chanthy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy fertilizer and pay for plowing fees to increase her crop yield and income to support her children's studies.

Chanthy's story

Chanthy, living in Kampong Cham province, is a 23-year-old mother of two dependent children who are both in school.

Growing rice on one hectare area of farmland and working as a paid worker have been the sources of her family’s income for many years. Due to drought, her rice has grown not well and it causes her to earn a very low income. To overcome this hardship, she is now applying for a Kiva loan via VisionFund to buy fertilizer and pay for plowing fees to increase her crop yield, and take the remaining money to renovate her old wooden house.

This is her second loan cycle and the past loan helps her to be able to keep her children in school. For this new loan, she wishes to gain more yield than the previous season by having enough fertilizer for her farming.
