Amigas De Tarapaca Group's story

The Civil Association team "Amigas de Tarapaca" (Tarapaca Friends) will start their first cycle with "Pro Mujer" (Pro Woman), as part of the Focal Center Senkata. It is made up of 10 members and headed by a board where Mrs. Demetria is the President. The businesses that the team members have are varied, among them: grocery store, butcher shop, popcorn shop, fruit shop, traditional skirt store, tea shop, food sales and gift shop.

The requested loan will benefit many micro-enterprises such as the one Mrs. Demetria is part of. She tells us that she joined "Pro Mujer" when a consultant that is part of it was running a promotional campaign. Her present business is a small grocery store, which she tells us she started with her husband over ten years ago.

The loan will provide an increase of capital for the purchase of wholesale noodles and soft-drinks, which she will buy from the wholesale store in the city of El Alto, to subsequently sell them in her retail space. This way of working allows her to to generate resources to support her family financially, since she is married and has four children.

When asked what she likes from "Pro Mujer", she tells us that she likes the health services area that the institution offers.
