A loan helped to purchase perfumes and women's accessories.

Sharlyn's story

Sharlyn lives with her partner in the Esparza area. She has no children. She is a young woman with more than 3 years of work experience in the business of selling perfumes and women's accessories. She was a member of the Fundación Mujer ['Women’s Foundation'] Solidaria Mujer Mujeres Progresando de Barranca ['Progressive Women of Barranca Women’s Solidarity'] group, where she received training and developed within the methodology. She had good loan management, but after moving to another area, it was difficult to continue with the group, so she opts for a loan for an individual. She manages current merchandise that she procures while traveling to the border and in some shops in San Ramón, which she resells to her customers.

The business’ history has been in her product sales and the odd jobs she has worked. The loan she requests is for this season's purchasing. She has an established customer base, which she has kept during this period. Her recovery is within 30 days, she collects fortnightly on large accounts, allowing her to have income to cover the loan installment.

She makes a living selling clothes and imitation jewelry, which pays for school and supports her household with income. She sells to family and friends. By moving to where her customers are, both to demonstrate the merchandise as well as to collect it, she sells throughout the whole year. She purchases seasonal merchandise, utilizing her commercial experience and commitment to the work. She demonstrates good organizational qualities in her work. The loan is going to allow her to have additional capital to be able to offer better conditions to her customers, giving her a better variety of products at good prices.
