Pratima's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to cover the education costs of grade 11 for her youngest son.

Pratima's story

Pratima is a 41-year-old married woman of Falakata. A mother of three sons, Pratima is a homemaker. Her two older sons are engaged in some income generating jobs but her youngest son is a student. Her husband runs his own hotel to earn the livelihood for the family.

Pratima is a hardworking woman who wants to provide a good education to her sons. The insufficient income of her family is the main hindrance that makes the children unable to go ahead with their continuous education. But Pratima wants to educate their son at any cost. Her youngest son Apu, 19 years old, is a student of grade 11 in Parangerpar Sishu Kalyan High School. He is a boy with average merit but is attentive and studious. He wants to get involved in a good business after his graduation, but he cannot get the necessary educational supplies and private tuition for his present academic course because of his parents' poor financial resources.

Pratima has taken a loan from BJS (a Kiva partner) to purchase study materials and pay all educational fees for her son. She hopes it will help her son to get an uninterrupted education and reach his goal.

Pratima and Apu (in the picture) are thankful to BJS and Kiva for this loan.
