Maa Laxmi Shg 1-E Group's story

Urmila, 28, is a hardworking lady from a small village of Odisha, India. She is the one standing to the left in the photo. She is a single mother and has one daughter and a son in her care. She is the only breadwinner in her family and works 13 hours a day in order to secure her income. She currently has a poultry farming business and earns her livelihood from that source only.

Urmila, along with her fellow group member, is requesting a loan amount of 36,000 INR. She will use her portion of the loan amount to purchase more baby chicks and feeds for them, and renovate her farm to increase her income.

Being a visionary woman, she intends to accumulate more profits and increase her poultry market to other markets, and this will increase her income and improve her living conditions. The extra income she will get will be used in fully repaying the loan and permanently changing her living conditions and securing the future of her school-going children.
