A loan helped to buy a decent latrine so her family will live in hygienic conditions.

Chinda's Group's story

Chinda is a 41-year-old widowed woman and a farmer living in a rural village of Preah Vihear province. Chinda has five children, three of whom are dependent on her and only one of them is in school. To earn a living, she works as a handicraft, which has been the primary source of her family’s income for five years. She can earn more income via growing rice, to support her family. The crops have been destroyed by flooding and droughts are the main challenges for her business.

This is Chinda’s fourth loan cycle with VisionFund, Kiva’s partner, and she paid back her past loans successfully. The previous loans helped her to have a better house to live in. In a group of five, she is the leader. She is going to use her entire loan portion to buy a decent latrine so her family will live in hygienic conditions. She hopes that all her family members stay healthy and are prevented from getting infectious diseases.
