Minati's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to bear her daughter's educational expenses for grade 9.

Minati's story

31-year-old Minati lives in a small village of Dhupguri in West Bengal. She is a careful mother of three children (one son and two daughters). She has a great determination to provide her children a good education. Thus she works hard to provide every support to her children. Minati is a housewife while her husband is a mason to earn a livelihood for his family.

Minati’s daughter, 16-year-old Kalpana, is studying in grade 9 in Dhupguri Uccha Balika Vidyalaya. She is serious about her studies and tries to score good marks in her final Board examination.

But Minati faces difficulties in bearing the educational expenses of her children after meeting the household cost with the sole income of her husband, yet she is striving hard to provide uninterrupted education to her children. Minati realizes that Kalpana will go ahead with further education if she gets proper help.

Hence as a responsible mother Minati is requesting a loan from Kiva’s partner BJS to bear the educational expenses of her daughter Kalpana. She plans to pay educational fees and buy study materials and a cycle for her daughter, so that Kalpana can easily go to school by saving the time and conveyance cost. The loan will help this bright young girl continue her education without any obstacles.

Minati and Kalpana (in the photo) are grateful to BJS and Kiva.
