A loan helped to buy corn for her business.

Ilbea Guadalupe's story

Guadalupe is 24 years old. She studied accounting but didn’t continue because she didn’t have the economic resources. She is single and lives with her parents. Guadalupe has made a living selling pupusas [a traditional snack] and food for the last 12 years. She learned this business from her mom and began the business out of necessity. She wakes up at 3:30 am because the kitchen is located 7 kilometers from her home. Her transportation goes by at 4:30 in the morning and she has to be at the kitchen at 5:00 am to prepare breakfast. She opens at 6:30 am and goes home at 4:00 pm. The loan will be invested in buying corn for her business because buying small quantities is very expensive and if she buys in large quantities she will have bigger profits. She hopes to expand her business and make improvements to her home. She also dreams of continuing her studies.
