A loan helped to buy clothes and shoes for men and women in order to carry out petty trade.

Awa's Group's story

This group was established during the banc villageois' first cycle. It consists of women who come from the same village who have been brought together through good professional and social relationships.

Awa is the one responsible for this loan; she is 50 years old and the mother of five children (two boys and three girls). Her business is selling (already manufactured) clothes to both genders. With her new loan of 250 000f CFA she is going to buy clothing and shoes to resell in the markets in her neighbourhood. She is successful in this line of work since she has been doing it for a long time.

The profits gained from her business will allow her to take control of her children's nutrition, schooling and healthcare. Furthermore, she will be able to increase her savings at the banc villageois level.
