Eklesia Group's story
The Eklesia group is composed of 6 women and led by Margarita, a 36 year old woman who is married to Dominggus, a 41 year old man. They are blessed with 4 children namely; Hermon 18, in the university; Wulan 15, in the 3rd of junior high school; Kevin 12, in the 2nd grade of junior high school and Sofa 5, in the kindergarten. Margarita owns a business of selling clothes at the harbor; she usually offers the products to the passengers when the ship has docked. Margarita runs the business to support her husband in earning some more money for their family’s daily needs. Her husband – Dominggus is working as a labor at harbor. Margarita has been involved in this business for 3 years. She spent her money amounting of IDR 3.000.000 when she initiated this business. The money was from the previous business of selling food. She plans to sell more clothes since the business is profitable. Therefore, she needs more money to do so. Five women are also searching for a loan to improve their businesses. They agreed to form the Eklesia group and requested a loan totaling of IDR 15,000,000. They are really appreciated for the loan assistance provided by Kiva through TLM for their business improvement.
